Below are the events I've organised or have helped to organise, most of them relate to the arts but overall I'm interested in events that create a positive experience for young people, creatives, BAME, and underrepresented groups.

Date: Across September and October

New Material is a project set up by youth marketing agency Livity in partnership with Channel 4 that centres on an event series that seeks to engage 600+ young people across the UK.

The events will take place in six regional hubs and it will combines entertainment, collaboration and networking to inspire change-making talent to launch their media careers.

Inside Out Market
@Lambeth Country Show

Lambeth Country Show is a two day event that 
celebrates the very best of the city & countryside.

Over the two days I took part in a variety of tasks:

  • setting up and taking down the market stall area

  • Supporting the different areas at Inside Out

  • allocating spaces and providing support to market stall businesses

LCC Staff Wellbeing Day 
DIFFЯNT: Live Painting

Wednesday 17th July 2019

At this event I led a live painting session centred around the theme of wellbeing, with artists Jada Bruney and Kourtney Paul for staff at LCC. 
 

The session was hosted outside in the LCC garden with music to help set the mood and non-alcoholic drinks.

This will be my first event at Boxpark Shoreditch.
It will follow a similar style to previous Art Jams but it will feature live art from guests and spotlight artists in an exhibition space.

Volunteered to lead the organising of the art exhibition as part of Livity presents MADE.

 

This involved communicating, organising and updating artists through email and group chat. Liaising with Livity staff to work with equipment, stalls, fashion show & promo & providing general on day support, create placards and help artists set up.

We teamed up with SOAS to screen Spike Lee’s classic Do the Right Thing for our third event.

After the screening we held an open discussion with attendees and ended the event with several spoken word performances, with each poet exploring one of the main themes in the film.

For Valentine’s Day we held a film screening, art exhibition and poetry night. The night opened with poetry performances leading into a break for attendees to view the art and then a screening of the rom-com Brown Sugar.
